Today's cards were made using the exact same supplies, just a different layout. I wanted to show you how you can easily switch up your design, with just a flip of your paper! Sometimes I think we all go through phases where we tend to make the same card layouts over and over. It's not a bad thing – after all, we are creatures of habit. I find myself often needing a change with how I'm making cards, and this 'flip-a-roo' trick helps me see another side of my creations. No, that is not a technical term, just one I came up with that seemed to fit! lol
This post shows how easy it is to switch things up! The Designer Series Paper I used is double sided. On one side is the all yellow pattern on the left, on the other side it's the big bold flowers on the right. Whether your card base lays horizontal or vertical, the pieces/measurements to make both these cards are exactly the same.
Give it a try! Next time you make a card, cut two of everything, and create two different cards! This is a great way to switch things up. You can take things a step further by cutting two of everything and using a different stamp from the same stamp set, you'll realize how much diversity you can get from using the same supplies!
Here are some quick instructions on how to make the card, including all the supplies.
1- One piece of card stock for your card base, you can cut this either along the 8 1/2" side at 4 1/4" or along the 11" side at 5 1/2", either way will work, you'll end up with two card bases
2- Two pieces of double sided Designer Series Paper measuring 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
3- Two strips of solid card stock measuring roughly 3/4" x 4 1/4"
4- Your Choice of ribbon
5- Two pieces of white card stock for your stamped image measuring 1 7/8" x 2 1/2"
6- Two pieces of coordinating card stock to mat the piece listed about measuring 2" x 2 5/8"
7- Any other accessories you'd like to add (here I used Basic Rhinestones)
8- Pull it all together, create your focal piece, your card base, round any corners if you'd like, and assemble them all together!
